your last night in your hometown before you leave for college in another state. you’re driving at night and thinking of your best friends and everything you love and hate about this small town but also how much you’ll miss everything when you’re gone. you know this goodbye isn’t permanent, but it feels like it right now

the specific kind of feeling that you only get on fall mornings. it’s a comfortable temperature and you’re walking by yourself. you see the leftover candy and discarded wrappers on the road beside you from the parade earlier that morning. you feel a melancholy type of content but mostly just ready for new things 

you’re hungover. head spinning and body fatigued but you’re feelin’ good with no regrets. you’re riding in the passenger seat with the windows down, drinking an iced coffee. zoning out but in a good way.

night time punk aesthetic, windows down blaring music with your best friend at 1:43 am. you can’t hear anything but the bass and your own voice inside your head as you sing the words as loud as you can and you feel free and alive, even if it’s fleeting
